On February 15th six students from Phoenix Middle School participated in the Math 24 tournament for 6th and 7 grade students. Math 24 is a multi-district tournament using the card game Math 24. Students in 6th, and 7th grade compete to earn cards of varying points, based on their level of difficulty. Levels of competition included integers and exponents for 6th graders and fractions and decimals for 7th graders.
Here are the students who represented the Delavan-Darien School District:
• 6th Grade: Celeste Esquivel, Alejandro Mondragon, Alexis Lee, Nate Lyga (alternate)
• 7th Grade Owen Alter, Ian Castillo Cano, Emma Meinen, Jeremy Johnson (alternate)
Top six students get recognized for their achievements.
Alexis Lee placed 5th overall for the 6th grade participants.
