Delavan-Darien High School standout linebacker Brody Nichols has been selected to play in the 2025 Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) All-Star Game. Nichols, a key leader for the Comets Football team, will represent the South Large All-Star team in the highly anticipated matchup on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Titan Stadium, UW-Oshkosh.
This honor comes after an outstanding senior season this fall, where Brody’s leadership, work ethic, and on-field performance played a crucial role in the Comets’ success. Reflecting on his journey, Nichols shared, “This is a dream come true. I’ve worked hard for this opportunity, and I couldn’t have done it without my coaches, teammates, and family. My last football season as a senior was an amazing journey, and I’m so grateful for everything that led me to this moment. I’m excited to compete at the next level and represent Delavan-Darien #CometNation.”
Kyle Polzin, Delavan-Darien High School’s Athletics and Activities Director, expressed his excitement for Nichols’ achievement, saying, “Brody has been an incredible leader on and off the field. His dedication, work ethic, and passion for the game have set him apart, and this opportunity is well deserved. We are so proud of all of his accomplishments and are so excited for him and this exciting opportunity this summer.”
Comets Varsity Head Football Coach Mark Kibler also praised Nichols’ relentless effort and leadership throughout his high school career. “Brody has been a cornerstone of our defense and an incredible leader for our team,” Kibler said. “His drive to improve every day, his willingness to put in the extra work, and his ability to motivate those around him have made him the player he is today. This All-Star selection is a well-earned recognition of his hard work, and I couldn’t be prouder of him.”
Leading up to the game, Nichols will participate in a week of team practices from July 14-18 in Whitewater alongside the state’s top high school football players. The WFCA All-Star Game not only showcases the best high school football talent in the state but also raises funds for the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. The Delavan-Darien community looks forward to cheering on Brody Nichols as he takes the field one last time as a high school athlete this summer.
