Parent Pickup of School Meals
The Delavan-Darien School District recently received updated guidance from the Wisconsin Department of Instruction regarding the free meal service provided through the USDA. Moving forward, parents are allowed to pick up meals for their children without children being physically present in the vehicle in an “effort to provide some leniency for children who may be sick or immunocompromised and should not be going out to the site”.
All Students are Welcome
All students age 18 and under are able to receive a free breakfast and lunch each weekday regardless of whether they are currently enrolled in Delavan-Darien or another District. The District is happy to provide this service to all families and students. If you have not already picked up a meal, or filled out our survey, please do so that we can have an idea of your needs while avoiding waste. Please note you only need to take the survey once.
The English version of the survey can be found here.

Drive-Through Reminders
Meals are served each day from 7am – 10am at the front doors of the Delavan-Darien High School and Darien Elementary. If you do not see anyone outside, please pull forward in the circle so that they can see you from the front door lobby. Staff are always there but they may be inside the front door packing more meals or staying out of the wind and rain.
No Meals During Spring Break and the Weekend
Due to USDA regulations, the District is currently unable to provide free meals to the community during regularly scheduled breaks such as the weekend and during Spring Break (March 23 - March 27).
DDSD is providing children with meals. We received approval from the Wisconsin Department of Instruction to provide a free prepackaged breakfast and lunch daily to all community members who are 18 years old or younger. We will not provide meals on weekends or spring break week.
All,
We are now restricting the Board of Education meeting to only 2 people tonight from the public as the restrictions of only 10 people are allowed at a public meeting. It will be "first come first serve" for those two seats. We will be opening the doors at 6:45 pm.
Please read our Virtual Learning FAQ for families/students.

Postponement of Upcoming Events
It is with a sad heart that I announce that DDSD will be postponing the musical Pippin, the Winter Sports Banquet, FFA Banquet, and the Empty Bowls event. Please know this decision was very difficult, but I feel large gatherings are not in the best interest of our community at this time. It is my hope that we will be able to host these events later this spring. We are working on a reimbursement plan.
Families,
Please take a moment to read a school update on Coronavirus. https://5il.co/dn5l
