Course Information:
Sculpture and Art Metals 2 will learn higher level technical skills, different media and techniques, as well as furthering their expressive skills within the field of sculpture and art metals. We will focus on additive and subtractive sculpture as well as rivets, stone setting, and sweat soldering metals.

Knowledge:
Understand and utilize the different definitions, supplies, rules, and techniques and safety requirements relevant to sculpture and jewelry making techniques
Technique:
Understand and safely demonstrate basic metal-smithing techniques; including cutting, filing, sanding, polishing, soldering, enameling, and casting
Understand and demonstrate the ability to create artwork with a high level of craftsmanship
Successfully apply additive and subtractive sculpture techniques to artwork which embodies personal ideas and voice
Understand the concept of visual communication and create work which communicates with the viewer
Create bases and mountings to display sculptures
Analysis:
Critically analyze and evaluate and compare personal work with the work of other in a written format as well as becoming familiar with participating in group critiques
