This is a year long course that requires selection of both semesters: S1 and S2.
Espanol III para los nativos está designado para los estudiantes que hablan espanol, quienes tienen generalmente buena conversación, escritura y entendimiento perfecto del lenguaje. Las actividades en esta clase llenaran diferentes aspectos del lenguaje: lecturas con análisis oral y escrito, dictados de palabras, oraciones, y párrafos. Nosotros complementaremos nuestro lenguaje con prácticas de gramática, la cual es muy importante en el uso del lenguaje escrito. Nosotros exploramos diferentes autores hispanos. En esta clase utilizamos el texto Nuevas Vistas, otros ensayos, y practicas de gramatica, y estaremos leyendo La casa en Mango Street en espanol III para nativos (Espanol II usa el curso avanzado I y Espanol III continúa con el curso avanzado II).
The Spanish III Native Speaker course is designed for students that speak Spanish fluently, have excellent conversational skills, good writing skills, and perfect understanding of the language. The activities of the class will fulfill different aspects of the language: readings with oral and written analysis, dictation, sentence and paragraph work, and essays. Language will be complemented with grammatical practices, especially for written language. Different Hispanic authors will be explored. The class will use the Nuevas Vistas textbook series, other essays, and grammar practices.
Outcomes:
Engage in intermediate to advanced conversation: provide and obtain information, express feelings, emotions and personal needs, and exchange opinions
Understand and interpret written and spoken language with a variety of topics
Present information, concepts, and ideas to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics, demonstrating an intermediate to advanced level of vocabulary and grammatical structure
Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the practices, perspectives, and products of the Spanish-speaking cultures studied
Acquire information and recognize the distinctive viewpoints that are only available through the Spanish language and its cultures
Demonstrate an understanding of the nature of language through comparisons of Spanish and English
Show evidence of becoming life-long learners by using the Spanish language both within and beyond the school setting
Prerequisites: FL210-S1 – Spanish II Native Speakers S1 AND FL210-S2 – Spanish II Native Speakers S2
Corequisites: If you take this course, you must also take FL310-S2 – Spanish III Native Speakers S2
College Readiness: This course counts as 1 year of foreign language. (Taking three years of Spanish (ie. Spanish I, II, & III) at DDHS equates to 3 years of foreign language preparation for college readiness.)
