Course Information:
ASL 4 is a continuation of ASL 3 in which further development of language usage through vocabulary expansion, manual and non-manual aspects of ASL, ASL linguistics and cultural knowledge will be presented at an advanced level. Creative usage of ASL in the form of stories and poetry will be analyzed for linguistic and cultural meaning via the teacher and other signers. By the end of this course, students will show an acquired language fluency with the ability to communicate with a native ASL signer.
Prerequisite: FL615 - American Sign Language III
College Readiness: This course counts as 1/2 year of foreign language. (Taking all four American Sign Language courses (I, II, III, & IV) at DDHS equates to 2 years of foreign language preparation for college readiness.)
