Core Chemistry will study matter and how it changes – emphasizing science skill and science literacy development. Science skills will focus on interpreting data, scientific investigations, and evaluating models – skills assessed on the ACT. Scientific literacy will focus on evidence based thinking. Students will improve their writing using the CER format (Claim – Evidence – Reasoning) and reading skills focusing on identifying evidence that supports an author’s claim.
