DDHS students in Mr. Speth's Introduction to Animal Agriculture class participated in a lab identifying and classifying the different types of feedstuffs in a beef feed. Students used math skills to calculate percentages of the feed ingredients and English skills to write a paragraph describing the feed and its differing types of ingredients including: roughages, concentrates, supplements and additives. Students in this course have the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit as this course is transcripted with Lakeshore Technical College. This is the first time many of these students have experienced an animal feed that is not dog or cat food.
