Delavan-Darien High School, in partnership with Gateway Technical College's Transcripted Credit Program, provided DDHS students a total of 508 dual credits (high school & college credit) during the 2020-21 academic year. This saved our students nearly $200,000 last year! In the past 3 years combined, DDHS students earned 1353 dual credits, saving our students over half a million dollars (specifically $513,629.70)! (see below)
DDHS is proud to have the talents of our transcripted credit teachers, including: Ms. Hannah Becke, Mrs. Jacqueline Jordan, Mrs. Jodi Scott, Mr. Marty Speth, Mr. Michael Rick, Mr. Mike Bell, Mr. Nick Marsh, Mr. Rob Prager, Mr. Steve Cervantes, and Mr. Tom DuVal! It is due to the extra effort, dedication, expertise, and education that these teachers have put in that we are able to provide such opportunities for our students!
Transcripted credit allows high school students to earn both high school & Gateway credit at the same time. Gateway's courses are taught by our high school faculty at our high school, using the same Gateway materials and curriculum that they would find on the Gateway campuses. Our high school teachers work with Gateway faculty mentors to ensure our students are meeting the same competencies and achieving academic success as the adult students on the Gateway campus.
In 2018-19, 460 DDHS students earned dual credit, saving $175,717.36. In 2019-20, 385 DDHS students earned dual credit, saving $146,708.91. In 2020-21, 508 DDHS students earned dual credit, saving $191,203.43.
