Course Information:

This project based class offers an introduction to interior design through residential applications. During this course you will become aware of the wide variety of floor plans, materials, furnishings and styles possible in interior design. You will focus on design basics utilizing principles and elements of design, color theory, and presentation board construction to create effective design solutions. Students will connect with local businesses to learn about residential applications of interior design.

Outcomes:

  • Use effective reading and math strategies to analyze, evaluate, interpret and acquire information regarding the field of interior design

  • Interpret and critically analyze literary and nonliterary texts in order to understand the design process

  • Communicate the purpose of design through oral, written or visual format
